I’m still living vicariously through my children and this week is a classic example. Although I’ll be at London Fashion Week, the only show I’m likely to be going to is Mini Mode; which will only be showcasing childrenswear collections. It’ll be the girls’ first taste of a fashion runway show and I think they’re going to love it – I’m not sure I’ll enjoy taking a three-year-old and a two-year-old on public transport on my own but what can you do? At least I’ll have a chance to get my sylist head on and choose a killer outfit for them both for the red carpet. Should be an experience anyway!

I’ll be posting on social while I’m at the event this Friday afternoon, so if you like the look of it, you can buy tickets for the show on Saturday, which is open to the general public and has plenty of stuff for kids to do while you’re looking at the clothes. More details below…

The preview will showcase SS20 and AW19 collections from designers including London’s award-winning childrens sunglasses brand Zoobug, French cashmere specialist Oscar et Valentine, USA made-to-measure custom clothing brand KICOMO by Kiara C. Morrow, Turkish luxury kids’ brand Melis Kaptanoglu Kids, London basedcool kidswear Little People London, Austrian sustainable, gender neutral childrenbrand Me in Wien and Latvian colourful Rock & Muse. Whilst past shows saw former Girls Aloud’s Kimberley Walsh debuting her Kimba Kids range, her first foray into childrenswear design that’s available now at Next.

“Mini Mode is my little contribution to the creative economy”, says founder Amanda Rabor, “as a designer and business woman I wanted to create a global platform to enable and support incredibly talented designers. As a mother I created the platform to empower real kids who want to experience the fashion world.”

Although the show I’m going to on Friday is for press only, a consumer show will be held on Saturday 14th September and is open to the general public. Consisting of a matinee as well as an afternoon show, the Saturday event will feature the latest See-Now-Buy-Now collections for AW219, as well as a selection of children’s entertainment, Kids’ DJs and interviews in-between the show.
