“Fancy making your daughter a pair of pyjamas?” they said. As the only two things in my life currently are children and a love of tailoring, I said of course I do! The good people at The Great British Sewing Bee Live have invited me to take part in a three hour workshop at the event later this month with former finalist from the show, Jade Earley. I’ll be attempting to make a child’s PJ set, so wish me luck, as it takes me approximately 2.5 hours (and a lot of swearing) to sew a button on a shirt.
The event runs from the 21st – 24th September at the Excel in London and it’s for anyone with a love of dressmaking, textiles, fashion and tailoring – whatever level you are. The show hosts hundreds of workshops, demonstrations, fashion galleries, catwalk shows, drop in clinics and a celebrity super theatre, as well as over 200 exhibitors selling specialist dressmaking and textile supplies. Ou can spend a day re-stocking your material stash, learning to sew, master the art of dressmaking, and also see the judges and contestants from the TV programme.
Luckily, I have 6 pairs of complimentary tickets to the event (not valid on Saturday) to give away. All you need to do is send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the name of one of the GBSB judges pictured below, with your name and address. The first 6 emails in my inbox will get the tickets.
Good luck and keep your eyes out for news of my monstrous sleepwear creation after the event!
